Boy's State / Girl's State

Helping to train tomorrow's leaders

These week-long programs are designed to educate high school juniors about the rights, responsibilities, and mechanics of American citizenship. Participants, referred to as “citizens,” learn by doing—organizing mock governments at the city, county, and state levels. They campaign for elected office, pass legislation, participate in court proceedings, and engage in discussions on contemporary issues. Each program emphasizes the importance of civic duty, leadership, and public service in a democratic society.

The programs are open to high school juniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a genuine interest in civics and community service.

Members first attend their state-level Boy's or Girl's state program, and the leaders selected from those groups go to the National level program. See the links below for Georgia Boy's and Girl's State programs.

Post 96 Warrenton will again be sponsoring four selected students to participate in the Georgia programs in 2026
